Deep inside the industrial heart of Dundee may be the last place you’d expect to stumble upon a natural oasis. But the Eden Project has peered past the concrete, metal, and construction to redefine the phrase concrete jungle… Situated below a SGN Gas cylinder this new Eden Project expansion site is set to give visitors Eden’s signature “feeling of what the future might hold” whilst continuing to build upon their globally renowned public engagement and education projects. This site will work with, not against the current features of this urban landscape. SGN’s Gas cylinder will remain onsite, incorporated into the new living landscape as a reminder of the history of the site, and will become a physical beacon of hope within the project – physically telling the story of this new attraction’s, and the world’s, transition to low carbon energy.
